About EasyRubben

EasyRubben was developed in Tromsø, the city where the world's first ski race was held in 1843.

As a recreational skier, founder Benjamin Mørk needed someone to blame (rather than his own ignorance, god forbid) when the wax fell short. And so the ski wax assistant EasyRubben was born. The service fetches live weather data from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (the same source as yr.no) and combines it with well-known recommendations for both grip wax and glide wax.

We have spent a lot of time fine-tuning the algorithms to ensure the service is both sufficiently accurate and easy to use.

The service is not perfect, but we work continuously to improve it based on feedback. It is currently available in Norwegian, English and German. EasyRubben will never be able to replace an experienced wax technician, but it can give a quick pointer on what might work in the current conditions.

EasyRubben is currently free to use.

EasyRubben is owned and operated by Skrapvarde AS. The service was founded by recreational skier and ski enthusiast Benjamin Mørk.
